Ai the I'oliee Court I his morning James A. dome, auctioneer, was charged, on Ihe information of George Tuck, with having obtained U:is from the informant by means of a false pretence. Defendant did not appear, and Mr. T. .Hutchison, S.M.,
ordered v warrant to issue for liis arrest, on a fresh information. Dc-
fondant-has not been seen in town since Monday last, and lie is supposed to have left for Sydney by the Waikare that evening. When the case was called on to-day kr McGregor, instructed by Mr Neufiiagen, appeared on behalf of the informant, .lie stated that the defendant was supposed u> have gone to Sydney, and that other charges were pending, and the warrant of arrest was issued on his application. The date of Iho alleged offence is December 19th of last yeal1.
