i'.u.vp fighting occurred at Coruna, a Fortified seaport of Spain, between the civic guard and a large number of workmen. The latter sympathised with tbe octroi (tax) officials, who are on strike. The guard fired into the crowd, killing five men and women. The city is proclaimed in a state of siege.
