" ~ At half past six o'clock this morning an alarm of fire was raised at Buckingham Palace, and the Firemen from the West End Stations hastened, to the scene. From some cause, which is at present unascertained, a fire had broken out in one of the kitchens on the first floor, but JETS OF WATER FROM A HAND PUMP were brought to bear on the mischief with such promptitude by the Palace Officials that all danger of a serious extension of the flames was over in a few minutes.— "Evening* Standard."
