Wind: Gftlc betwcou north-east and southeast at all places northward of East Cape, Tr.upo, aud Raglan; gale between northeast and north-west elsewhere. Barometer: Fall everywhere. Sea: Heavy on both coasts. Tides: High on East Coast, except at Lyttelton and Akaroa: high on all Western Coast south of Cape Egmont; good thence northward.

Rain will be heavy northward of East Cape, Taupo, ami .Manukau. Also southward of Westport and Kaikoura, and may be expected at all other places. Floods are probable ou the East Coast northward of East Cape, and on the Western Coast of the South Island.

Wijrning signals for easterly gales are exhibited at Cape Maria Van Diemen and Tiritiri, aud for northerly gales at Capes Cfynpbell, Foulwiuu, ana Farewell Spit.. Synopsis of the last 24 hours: Slowly decreasing pressure northward of East Cape, Taupo, and Raglan: very little movement thence to Cape Farewell and Cape Campbell; from thence southward pressure decreased slowly until 8 p.m., since then it has risen a little. A shalow depression from west passed east of the meridian of South Cape late yesterday; one from the same direction is approaching, and there is also one due there on the Gth. Pressure is low to the N.N.W. of North Cape, travelling to S.E.
