BOROUGH MEETINGS.
GEEY LYNN.
The : Grey Lynn Council met last night,* there being present:—Messrs R. T. Warnock (Mayor), A. Donald, J. Rosser, J. Farrell, A. Parker, R. C. Foster, C. McMaster, T. Booth, W. White.
Loan.—On the motion of the Mayor the Local Bodies Loan Act, 1886, Avas adopted for the Richmond Ward for the purpose of raising a loan for a ward water supply and drainage purposes. In connection with this matter the Mayor moved later on that the. contribution of the Richmond Ward towards the cost of the main gully drainage of Surrey and Sussex Ward for the purpose of putting in a pipe large enough to take the drainage from Richmond be £250. Cr. J. Rosser said it seemed strange to deal with that end before the Council had decided to adopt the scheme for the other two wards. Cr. Rosser said it looked like starting at the wrong end, whereupon the Mayor ruled him out of order, and the motion was adopted. Cr. McMaster asked if the proposed scheme would be a complete one for Surrey aud Sussex Wards. The Mayor said it was never intended . for a complete scheme if by that was meant laying drains in portions of the estate not yet sold. If; provided for drainage from all existing streets. The Coun-; cil then resolved to ask the Public1 Works Department to allow Mr Vickerman to report upon the suitability of the scheme as a whole.
Various minor matters were dealt with, such as repairs to various footpaths, clearing gorse off Richmond Road, and accounts to the extent of £190 9/1 were ordered to be paid.
