TO-DAY'S PROCEEDINGS.

A breakfast meeting nnd reception social in connection with the N.Z. Mliance was held in the Central Mission Hall this morning. Mr Tromain presided, and welcomed the various delegate*, who numbered about a hundred. The annual business meeting was commenced at 9.30 a.m., Rev. Hugh Kelly presiding in the absence of the president, Rev. 1. J Wills, who is absent through sickness. Before the business was proceeded with a resolution to the memory of Queen Victoria and of allegiance to King Edward was proposed by Pastor Clark and carried unanimously. All present then sang a new version of the National/ Anthem, commencing "God Bless Our Native Land." Pastor Clark's resolution was as follows:—"We, the members of the N.Z. Alliance, at its annual meeting, representatives of many thousands of temperance reformers throughout the colony, place on record our sense of the. great loss sustained by the British Empire, and the world, by the death of our late Queen Victoria the Good. We pray that the memory of her 63 years of beneficent rule may be a source of continuous inspiration to our King, Edward the VII.. and that we may be enabled in affectionate loyalty to rejoice in a reign of righteousness that shall insure his memory being cherished by future generations as the worthy successor of his noble parents. We pray that God's richest blessing mny rest upon him and his Queen. We join with our fellow colonists in extending the welcome of hearty loyalty to the HeirApparent and the Duchess of Cornwall and York on their approaching visit, praying that under the blessing of God their lives mny be long spared and their years gilded with the happiness that springs from great, usefulness."
