AU CKLAND ARRANGEMENTS.

THE GOVERNOR

The s.s. Waikare arrived from Sydney shortly after noon to-day. Among her passengers were Hia Excellency the Governor, Lord Ranfurly, the Hon. H. C. Butler, of the' Royal staff, the Hon. J. W. Johnston, Colonel Penton and Captain G. W. S. Patterson, who have come to take part in the ceremonies in connection with the visit of the Duke and Duchess of York. Captain Boscawen, Hon. Aide-de-Camp, proceeded out to the vessel and escorted His Excellency ashore.

The Governor was met at the wharf by Lady Raafurly and the Hon. Charles Hill Trevor, A.D.C., and drove to Government House. He remains in Auckland till the arrival of the Duke and Duches3, and afterwards accompanies their Royal Highnesses to Rotorua,
