THE ROYAL CAR.

The Royal cax for the Duke and Duchess of York to travel in to Rotorua being completed, furniture for same, which, has been manufactured by the Tonson Garlick Co., Ltd., is now on view in their window, prior to being removed to car. It consists of a handsome Chesterfield couch covered in cardinal red morocco skin, with trimmings in keeping, and a pair of side armchairs to match the same. The occasional chairs in rattan, upholstered with chocolate colour morocco skins have a very pleasing effect, the contrast being- not too great in colouring, but of such a tint as to show up the skill of the rattan manufacturer as well as the upholsterer. The dining-room chairs, manufactured in solid American walnut, are in keeping with the occasional table made of the same wood. The upholstered revolving office chair is also shown, with, beautiful carved panels in walnut to harmonise with the occasional table and small foot stool; the whole with draping having a very pleasing effect, which when arranged in the car should produce comfoHi and ease in travelling. The

ramp firm, who have the order to fur* nish Government House, show a very, handsome rimu bedroom suite, specially , designed and manufactured, which is also on view prior to beingl removed to its destination. As these may.not be on public view again, the public should not miss, the opportunity] of inspecting same.

Mr. Parata has found accommodation for the Maoris passing through here, in Messrs. Brown and Barrett's warehouse, four flats of which have been secured. This will be covered with straw for the natives to lie on, each party only using the place one night. All the parties arrive in the evenings, and special trains will be put on each day to convey them to Rotorua.
