SUPREME COURT.
At the Supreme Court criminal sessions thih morning the case for the defence in the charge of cattle stealing against John Hyland was concluded. The defence was that the cattle alleged to have been stolen from Donald McLeod, of Hikurangi, had strayed on to Hyiand's property. The accused denied any knowledge as to how the cattle ( >ame there, and denied the charge of stealing them. Mr G. JV Parr addressed the jury for the defence this forenoon.
