HOTELS AND EXTENSION OF HOURS.
At the annual meet ing- o£ the City of Auckland Licensing Committee which is,to take place on Tuesday' next, the 4th prox., it is the intention i of the hotelkeepers 1o apply1 for an extension in the time of closing their premises from ten io eleven o'clock during the week occupied by the visit of the Duke and Duchess of York, la view of the fact that so many strangers will be in town at that date, and that there will be so muny people staying in the hotels who will not have returned to their homes before' the latter hour, they consider it will be in the best interests of the public to obtain the extra hour. The extension asked for is to be for six days only, viz., from Monday, the 10th, to Saturday, the 15th prox.
