At the half-yearly meeting- of the Mount Lyell Company, the report was adopted. The Chairman said the general manager's report stated that the better class of ore underground, between numbers 4 and •"> and 1 and 0 stupes wan practically worked out. tie could not conceal that the report was less encouragingl than the directors expected, it w;h>, however, a cautious and accurate estimate, upon which the shareholders could rely and base their own estimates. ±'15,000 was transferred to the reserve fund, making1 £40,000, and it was decided to pay a dividend of half-a-erown per share.
