THE DEATH SENTENCE.

SYDNEY, this day.
The half caste Locke, who was convicted of a criminal assault on a girl named Wood on March 25th, had the death sentence passed upon him this morning. Locke disappeared with the girl Wood, and was hunted by the police for some time. The girl was first recovered and subsequently Locke was arrested.
