200 BOERS SURRENDER.
A SHARP ENGAGEMENT
BOER FORCE REPULSED
LONDON, May 30,
Two hundred Boers surrendered at Philipolis and 42 • waggonfuls of men, women and children at Tuli.
Commandant Yiljoen, with 400 men, attacked ColonelPlumer's convoy southwards of Bethel en Saturday, but after a sharp engagement were repulsed. Six Boers were killed and 30 wounded.
Kruitzinger is moving eastwards. The town guards at Zarkustad, Molteno and Queenstown have manned the trenches in readiness if attacked.
