The services in connection with the anniversary of the Mount Eden Free Methodist Church were continued in the church last evening. A : number of members and friends sat down to tea provided by the ladies, and this was followed at 7.30 by the public meeting. Rev. J. Benning occupied the chair. Vocal selections were contributed as follows: Miss Hefford, "The Last Milestone" and "The Nightless Land"; Mr. A. Trenwith, "The Refuge of the Soul" and "Anchored"; Eev. S. Potts, "He Wipes the Tear" and "The Way of the Cross." Short addresses were delivered by Rev. J. Saunders, Rev. S. Potts. Rev. J. Benning and Mr. Dixon. Mr. Cole, secretary and treasurer, reported that a new parsonage had been erected duri ing the year, at an expense of £250, j but the accounts show a small deficit, i not as large as had been anticipated. The prospects, for the coming year look hopeful. The choir contributed several selections. Mr. A. Trenwith kindly officiated at the organ as accompanist. Vote-s of thanks were passed to the ladies and other friends who had helped to make the eveniin.r's programme *o successful. j The Unitarian Church social in the i J Wesloy'Ball last evening was well at- ' \ tended. Mr J. Ingram presided, and I lan excellent musical programme was j ; gone through. Songs were rendered by Miss Ada Matheaon. Mesdamefi I i Babe, and Rdgrr. and Messrs P. Brown and J. Mitchell. Miss-Dora Judson, : : Judge Edger, and Dr. Cox contributed I two trios for piano, violin, and 'cello, j Refreshments were handed round during , the evening. The next social will be given on. Jtme 26.
