A BUSH ACCIDENT

THomas Johnson was received at the Thames Hospital to-day with a broken leg, caused by an accident in the bush at Purivi. Johnson, who was working1 in. the bush, was crushed by a log, and had a narrow escape from death.
James Stewart was also admitted, suffering from a broken and crushed leg. He was Avorking in a pass in the Crown mine at Karangahake when a quantity or ore fell and crushed him. No one was near, and Stewart, suffering dreadful agonj r, had to descend the pass before assistance could be secured.
