CHARGE OF ASSAULT.
The trial of the young1 man Archibald Everid Thomson, charged with indecently assaulting- and attempting to commit rape upon a little girl named Agnes C. Gallagher, was corii tinned at the Supreme Court to-day. 1 Further evidence was called for the defence, in support of an alibi, it. being contended on behalf of the accused that he was at home at his parents' place at the time the offence was committed on the girl. Mr. N. A. McLeod, counsel for the accused, addressed the Court at considerable length. The Hon. J. A. Tole, Crown Prosecutor, also addressed the jury. (Proceeding.)
