700 RETURNED TROOPERS AT PERTH.
A SENSATIONAL INCIDENT.
PERTH, this day
The transport Morayshire has arrived from Capetown with over 700 returned soldiers, including* 23 New Zealanders.
There are eight cases of measles aboard and a good many others recovering from fevers and wounds.
Some trouble occurred during the
voyage owing to the men objecting to holystone the decks and their quarters. A courtmartial was held, and nine of the men were confined in the guardroom. There were fears of a mutiny, but order was eventually restored by the strict enforcement of discipline.
