SHOOTING AT WAIUKU.
A return shooting match look place at Watuku oe Victoria Bay, between the Waiuku Mounted Rifles and a team of civilians. The weather being very rough and squally interfered greatly with the shooting, the wind blowing- at times with almost hurricane force, and accompanied by blinding rain. The match was unable to be finished, but the civilians (most of whom were ex-troopers) were victorious. The ranges were— 200. 300. 400. five shots at each. The following are the scores:—Private Sehouler 0:2, Sergt. Johnson 53, Private W. May 53, Capt. Barriball 52, Private Glass 51, Sergt. Barriball 50, Lieut. Makg-ill 49, Private Henry 49, Private Keogh 48, Corporal Keogh 48, Corporal Webb 47, Sergt. Eossitter 45. Private Codlin 44: total 603.
