Itobb) wrote asking the Council to instruct their engineer to prepare plans and specifications, and also to give an estimate of the approximate cost of forming an esplanade from the beach at Norman's Hill to the BlulT. After discussion the matter was referred to the Council to consider and report. Military Parade Reserve- —Mr E. The Mayor moved, seconded by Or.. I Collidge, that the consideration of fho i matter be referred to the Council to consider and report upon. Fever Patient.— Dr. Tracy R. Tng-lis wrote reporting a ease of enteric fever on the boundary of the borough. Electric Light.—Mr .i. Tl. Brandon*! local secretary of the .New Zealand Electrical Syndicate, in acknowledging the Council's communication* pointed Out that he was unable to gather whether the request was for a quotation for the supply to the borough on similar terms to the contract, they have in the Wellington city, or merely for erection of plant which the Ouehuuga Council would control Iheijiselves. The Wellington Electric Lighting Act of 1891 would give full particulars of the conditions under which his company act. On the mo* fion of the Mayor, seconded by Or. Collidge, the letter was referred to the Council in Committee,. Water Consumption.—The turncock reported that ihe consumption of water in the borough during the past fortnight was .1,215,000 gallons. Financial Statement. —The Town Clerk made his financial statement, fitter which accounts amounting to ■tilt) 11/ were passed for payment. Lease. —Mr Wigm.ore wrote offering £;"> per annum for the lease for fit years of a small reserve near the coal wharf. The Mayor moved, seconded by Cr. Ttowe, that the tender be accepted. Notice of Motion.—The Mayor gave notice to move at the next meeting, "That a rate of one shilling in the £ A)c levied on all rateable property' in the borough for the ensuing year."
