£he "Daily Express" states that iiord Kitchener allowed Command-ant-in-Chief Louis Botha facilities to communicate with Kruger. Botha informed the ex-president that there was a desire for peace on all sides. Kruger communicated with the Czar urging him to use his efforts to obtain the application of the Hague Convention principles to a settlement. Bussia's reply was to remind Kruger that he comfnenced the war.
