To-morrow h& proceeds to Te Awamutu, where he i& to receive a presentation in _recognition of his services in connection with | the inauguration of the penny post* he Hon T. Y. Duncan, Minister for Lands, who returned to town yester. day afternoon, left for Whangarei last night to meet M r Houston, M.H.R. - - v

WHANGAREI, this day.. The Minister of Lands and party arrived here this morning, and proceeded to Hikurangi at 9 o'clock. A deputation re draining of the biff swamp waits on him to-day. To-night he receives a deputation from iruitorowers. He proceeds to the head of navigation of the Wairoa River, Po« roti, to-morrow. ~
