NAPIER, this day.
Percy Emerson, a corporal in the First Contingent, who ,has been granted a commission in tbve Seventh is a son of the late Inspector Emerson. WELLINGTON, this' day. Surgeon-Major Burns is to b<e temporarily attached to the Seventh Contingent for duty. Captain Johnstone and staff and Lieutenant Daviea are to receive commissions, and Veterinary Lieutenant Young, lately from the front, is also to be attached.

<gfte kelson and West Coast members/ «* the Seventh Contingent left for Wellington early this morning. They were given a suitable send-off by,Jhe local volunteers and band last evening. On Saturday the men wer,e each presented by the Mayor, on behalf-of the More Men Fund Committee, with a parcel of woollen comforts.
