8o SCOUTS CAPTURED
GALLANT THOUGH UNAVAILING STAND

LONDON, March 3
It is announced that eighty of Kitchener's fighting scouts, attacked by a superior Boer force, surrendered after prolonged fighting, and sustaining twenty casualties.
The report is interpreted as referring to Major Colenbrander's scouts, a force recently raised to protect the Rhodesian frontier.
