AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY.
After we went to press yesterday afternoon the following business was transacted at the annual meeting of the Auckland Provincial Agricultural Association:— Sakyards—The Secretary read a letter from the auctioneering linns (Buckland and Sons and the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co.) regretting that they could not see their way to make any further reduction in commissions and charges on stock. They fe t convinced that the proposal of the farmers to establish salevards of their own was a venture that would only end "in failure.—The Secretary also road the report of the committee, stating that ample funds had been raised to go on with the scheme.—Mr J. Barugh moved, •'That in the opinion of this meeting it is desirable that a Farmers' Saleyards Co. be formed, and that the provisional directors be Messrs J. Barugh, F. W. Burnett, R. Dick, J. G. Rutherford, James Taylor, C. Shiplierd, T. Coa'tes, S. J. Ambury. and E. Allen."—This resolution .was agreed to.
