KAURI GUM MARKET

SUMMARY ItEPORT.

The kauri gum trade has been dull throughout the past three weeks, and the tendency is still towards lower prices for most grades, as in the face of the position of outside markets, buyers are holding off excepting where a particular line is wanted for a special order, or in cases where concessions in price are made. One outcome of the present position is a falling off in the quantity of g-vun sent in, which may in due time help to steady prices. !n the meantime some stocks have'accumulated of certain grades which are not in request. Exports .since . last mail are to Europe per -Mararoa, 8 tons, Wnikure ? tons, Indradevi 21 tons, Star of Xew Zealand 13 tons, Pakelia C 2 tons, and Waikato (additional) 7 tons. For New York per Indradevi, 45 tons, Star of New Zealand 24 tons, and.rakeha 17 tons. For San Francisco per Alameda, 8 tons. Total 234 tons.
