COROMANDEL, this day
Development work in the Nil Desperandum claim, Mahakirau, has been pursued with vigour during the past few days. A further teu pounds of specimens were secured, and gold is still seen each breaking down. A start has been made to repair the, track to the battery. The owner-., Messrs Prescott and Davies, expect to start crushing next. week. BAY VIEW. This claim, at Kennedy Bay, which produced a fair quantity of gold in former years, has been taken up by Messrs R. H. Harrison and W. Hunter, operations commencing to-day. WEST TOKATEA. Ore is now being carted to the battery from the West Tokatea mine. Crushing operations commenced today. There is a large parcel of ore to be treated, some of it being of high grade.
