A lady has offered the. New York public library a remarkable gift. I. consists of one thousand menus, each of a different hotel or restaurant. Some are from Hungary, China, Japan and Russia. The donor stipulates that the menus are to be kept sealed until 1959, as it is her desire that the cominc- 'generations may see what their ancestors ate.
