HARRIER REEFS
The west stope, No. .'! level, is open
ing up well. Twelve men are at work in that stope taking down quartz. There is no material change to report in the other stopes. The east drift No. :; level has improved during the week. The mill ha.s been working.as usual. IMPERIAL. Good progress has been made with sinking the winze below No. .'! level. It is down 52 feet, but at present the reef is not so solid, being composed of strong leaders and veins of quartz, with small bands of sandstone between. The quartz when tested gives fair dish prospects. WAITAIA. Local shareholders in the Vvaitnia Gold Mining Company met at 3 o'clock yesterday afternoon in the office, of Messrs Batger and Htericker. Customsstreet. The business was to consider the position of lcteal shareholders. After somo discussion, Messrs Edmund Hell, J. Batger, and W. H. Churton were appointed to communicate with the head office of the Company in Glasgow, and generally to look after the interest of local shareholders. BUNKER'S HILL G.M. COMPANY.
Below the No. 2 level in the Hunker's Hill (lold Miring Company's mine at Cororanadifl, where operations are being conducted from the winze, the reef last week narrowed in, and improved in quality. Colours of gold were frequently seen, and albs of fair picked stone bagged. From the quart*, broken down in the No, 8 stope, which ha.s been carried along 0 feet, I4lbs of picked stone was selected from the general ore. Here the reef ha.s become moro compact, and at present bears a most promising appearance.
