Drunkenness. - Norah Williams and Bridget Weston were each fined 20/ or I days' in default.
Remanded.-F. B. Harcourt, alias Ambrose BearparkeX was charged that on February 18th, at Waitekauri, he did break and enter the dwellinghouse of Arthur Maurice and steal one gold scarf pin, one pair of sleeve-links, and one pair of field glasses, total value £2 10/, the property of the said Arthur Maurice. On the application of Detective Maddern accused was remanded lor eight days, bail being allowed in two sureties of £20 each. Withdrawn.—The charge against William Thomas Dixon of assaulting his wife, Maud Dixon, with intent to cause grievous •bodily harm, was, by the consent of the Bench, withdrawn. Sub-Inspector Mitchell said the police did not consider the case sufficiently serious to prosecute. Mrs Dixon said she and her husband were now living happily together, and she did not wish to go on with the case. The Shops Act.—Ah Chee, charged with keeping his shop open contrary to the fihops Act on January 30, -was fined 40/ and costs.—A. J. Booth, for not closing at one o'clock on January 23rd, was fined 20/ and costs.
Remanded.-Edward Green, Thomas Stafford and Annie Egecomb were charged with assaulting one Rangon Khan and stealing from him the sum of £2 16/6. On the application of the police the accused were remanded till to-morrow.
A, Chance to Eeform.—Annie Dunn ■was convicted of drunkenness, and ordered to come up for sentence when called upon, on the understanding that Vlie became an inmate oyf the Door of Hope, Cook-street.
