SAD DEATH OF TROOPER FARRELL.
WELLINGTON, this day
The Premier is advised from Albany by the captain of the steamer Chicago, of the death from pneumonia, of Trooper J. Parrel 1, at sea. Deceased hails from Kihikih;. Auckland. A cablegram to the Government from Capetown states that Sergeant E. Fitzgerald, of the Second Contingent (Wellington), and Trooper Doru, of the Third Contingent (Oxford), are progressing well in the hospital at Pretoria.
