Disappointment has been caused at the withdrawal of Advance from the Doncaster Handicap and Sydney Cup, As, however, instructions authorised his nomination for all welght-for-age races at the autumn meeting- sportsmen will probably have a chance of seeing him racing at Rand wick later-.
A private cable received to-day from Mill. Oxenhazn stales that after the splendid gallop registered by Advance on Friday last 100's to 10, n and 12 'were freely accepted about the Vanguard horse for the Newmarket Handicap. He is now quoted at loo's to VI.
