<)!i Saturday afternoon the Akarana Ilifie Club held competitions for two i marble clocks, presented by Messrs. A. Jinekland <k Sons and the Stw Zea- | land Loan and .Mercantile Agency Co., j Ltd., for "A" and UB" class shots re- | spectively. The conditions were the I same in both matches, viz., seven; shots and two sighters at each of the ! following ranges: UOOyds (standing or kneeling), 500 yds and 600 yds. A changeable light and strong wmd | from the left point made good shooting soraev.-h.at difticalt, but some good .scores were put up. Mr. M. Tobin won the "A"' da=s trophy, and Mr. A. IG. Maughan the "B" clas-s. Mr. 11. G. | Cox scorer! the possible—Us points— at the siiii/.-l- rr.nge.
