Exposure.—Franz Walter pleaded guilty to indecent exposure in Queenstreet on Saturday. Evidence was given by Sergt. Gordon and Constable Skinner. His Worship sentenced the prisoner to one month's hard labour.

Information DfismissedtJ —.William David Sheehan, a lad about 15 yea^rs of age, was charged with having stolen one pound of grapes, the property of Messrs Hall and Perkins, auctioneers. Accused pleaded not guilty. The stdrenian deposed to seeing the boy getting through a stall in the mart from' which a shutter had been removed. The boy had two bunches of grapes in his hand, but dropped them upon seeiugl witness. William Lindsay, a boy about thirteen years of age, deposed he was with the other bo*- on Saturday night. He denied that accused took the gTapea or that they were in the stall at all. He saw two smaller boys coming from that direction. One had his blouse full of something, but did not know what he had. Accused denied having taken the fruit, but said as he was going past the - place another boy came out and ran away. The man first accused him of stealing bananas and then said it was grapes. Sub-Inspector Mitchell said another witness should have been present, but as Mr Perkins did not wish to press the charge he would not ask for an adjournment. His Worship said it I was not a case of letting the boy off, for, an it stood at present, he could not convict, as the two witnesses called contradicted each other. He would therefore dismiss the information. Remanded to Sydney. — James Shaw Smellie was charged with having at Sydney stolen £3o" 10/, the property of Henry Roland Ward. Detective Herbert conducted the case. Evidence of identification was given by Senior Constable Hugh Adair, of the N.S.W. police. Accused said he had no wish to say anything, as he was going to fight it out when he reached Sydney. He was accordingly remanded to appear in Sydney. Edward Thomas Newby was charged with having deserted his wife in Sydney. Detective Herbert deposed to making the arrest and produced the provisionlal warrant. He asked that accused be remanded to Sydney, which was accordingly done. (Alleged Agfcault*.—Jam.es Corriganj, charged with having assaulted Mary Corrigan, was remanded, bail in one surety of £10 being allowed.

The case preferred against Charles Tretheway, tram car driver, for alleged cruelty to animals in driving a horse with sore, shoulder, was dealt with in the upper court room.
