fAN IMPORTANT CAPTURE
HEAVY COLONIAL CASUALTIES.
LONDON, February 23
Lord IdSeghnen on the 14th cap-" tured a laager at Brakpan, together with 40 waggons and carts, a quantity of stock and 40 prisoners. The casualties at Hartebeestfontein in Methuen's attack on Commandants De Villiers and Lieberibergs included the following: — Viptorian Bushmen: Sergeant Vaughan and Privates Johnson and Ilesketh, killed; Private Small, wounded dangerously; Colonel N. Kelly, Lieutenant Parkin and Private Lancaster, wounded severely; PriTates O'Shea and Ward, slightlyNew South Wales Bushmen: Private Trainer, severely wounded. The casualties at lteitfontein were: New South Wales Monnteds: Sergeant Barrett, mortally wounded; Private Clements, severely. South Australians: Captain Argus Collis, slightly; and Private Rutherford, severely wounded. i
