INANIMATE PIGEON SHOOTING.
A teams match (five a-side) for Messrs. T. & S. Morrin's "Amberite" cup was held on Saturday afternoon at the New Zealand Inanimate Pigeon Shooting Association's grounds, Epsom. The conditions were that each shooter fire at 30 birds, the trophy to become the property of the team winning it twice in succession, or three times at intervals. The Eden and Northern Gun Clubs tied with 90 points each, and in the shoot-off Eden won by 27 points. This being their second successive win, Eden retain the trophy as their own property. A silver-mounted flask, presented by the Campbell-Ehrent'ried Company for the highest individual score, was won by Dr. Owen, after shooting oft" with Mr. G. E. Severne, the latter receiving as second prize a pair of sleeve-links made out of Lee-Metford bullets, presented by Mr. Whitney. Afternoon tea was provided by lady friends. Mr. Duval acted as referee. The scores in the shoot-off were:
Eden Gun Club—G. E. Severne, 25; ,T. Nutt, 20; R. J. Parry, 20; J. Strathem, 20; B. Grayson, 18; total, 103.
Northern Gun Club—Dr. Owen, 22; A. C. Whitney, 17; Hyndes, 17; A. Donald, 15; Noakes. 9; total, 76.
