If the report of Mr Monaghan on the preliminary survey of the proposed two-foot gauge railway from Stratford to Kawakawa, via Whangar momona, which is expected to be presented to the Minister of Public Works in a few days, approves of the widening of the gauge, it is understood that the Minister will recommend Cabinet to aslt Parliament to vote the necessary mesaa ior tb* -work.
