RACING NEWS.

Nominations for events of the Ohinemurl Jockey Club's annual race meeting close at Paerou, or with Air >V. Blomiield, Auckland, at 9 p.m. on Saturday, 23rd iiist.

The Te Aroha Jockey Club met on Wtdnesday evening-. Mr T. Gavin presided. It was decided to reserve the course and grandstand gates. A committee, consisting of Messrs Ferguson, R^owe, Lennard, Hemphill and Dyer, was" formed. The following appointments were made: Messrs Pilling and Ferguson, to measure ponies; Mr A. W. Edwards, timekeeper; Mr Abbey, totalisator clerk; *ilr S. L. Bygrave, to receive totalisator investments. The bookmaker's fee was fixed at two guineas. Messrs M. O'Meagher and Sclilesenger were elected as steward and member of club respectively. Mr Jackson Palmer. M.H.R., was elected a vflfe-presi-dent.
