OFFICERS' DUELS.

Military ,men at Funtainableau anet Melun are still in a state of agitation about the changes made in the school at the first mentioned place by the War Minister, says a Paris despatch bearing a date early in last month. Duels are being fought nearly every day, and there was a very serious encountev be tween two officers at Melun the other morning. A Lieutenant Auriol, who had recently acted as a second in a duel, was criticised for his attitude by a colleague of his own rank, M. FJury-Herard, who refused to salute him. M. Auriol, having demanded explanations and being unsatisfied with the answer received, assaulted M. Flury-Herard,who challenged him. The two men met at half past 10. and fought with cavalry sabres. The result was that M. Flury-Herard's right arps was nearly cut off from his body. A less serious duel was fought at FonAles serious duel was fought at Fountainbleau easly last week between Captain Coblentz and Captain Gillot. Captain Coblentz is a Jewish officer appointed to the military school at Fontamebleau who was recently prevented from joining in the stag hunt organised by the Messrs Lebaudy. His quarrel with Captain Gillot arose from the circumstance that the latter refused to sit at mess with him in a restaurant at Fontainebleau, where, under a new order, the, unmarried olficers at the Fontainebleau School take their meals. Captain Gillot, who is mess president, was chiWenged by Captain Coblentz, who in a sword duel wounded him in the chest.
