Ins the Third Century Stakes, which comese up for decision at the Autumn Meeting,! 1002, there are Cl entered. For the Great! Northern Foal Stakes, run at the Sum-| mer Meeting', no less than 130 are listed! to compete, while in the Eighth Royal Stakes 120 are engaged. In each of the events a good response has been made from owners all over the colony, while local entries are very numerous. A meeting of the Takapuna Jockey Club Committee is being held this afternoon to consider what course will be| adopted owing to the death of Her Ma-| jesty. Queen Victoria, with regard toi the holding of their race meeting, ofl which the opening day is fixed for Tues-| day next. The management are placed! in rather a difficult position in respect to| deferring their lixture, but they will nog doubt adopt a course which wfT? be satis-| factory to horse-owners and the general! public.
