I I A Poll of the Ratepayers of the Eden i Terrace Road District will be taken on •*! SATURDAY, the 26th day of January, 1901, between the hours of 9 a,m. and 6 p.m., on the following proposal, viz.:— To construct a complete system of drainage for the Eden Terrace Road District, plans of the proposed public work can be seen at the Eden Terrace Public Hall during office hours; and for this purpose they propose to borrow the sum of £3000, repayment of which to be secured by a Special Rate of 11-4Oths of a penny in the £ on all rateable property in Eden Terrace Road District, the said rate to be a recurring- rate for a period of 32 years, the loan being obtained under Sub-section 2 of Section 2 of the Government Loans to Local Bodies Act Amendment Act, 1899, which provides that the yearly rate of interest, and the term during whic^ the Interest is payable by the Local Authority, shall be "four per centum per annum for a term of 32 years."
