MESSRS ALFRED BUCKLAND AND SONS' WEEKLY HEPORT.

Horses: At the Hay market on Friday last entries in all classes were good, as also was competition, and many sales were effected at most satisfactory prices to the vendor, in many instances the reserves being far below the prices obtained. Draughts sold up to £34 and £38; lighter, £25 to £32; waggon and plough horses, £10 to £24; and at those figures there exists a good demand. For hacks and trap horses there was also a good inquiry, and all of this class showing any quality were sold under the hammer at prices varying from £10 to £18; aged and lower set horses and ponies, £4 to £9.

Grain, etc.: Danish oats sold under the hammer at 1/10 bushel; feed oats, 2/8 to 2/4; maize, 2/9; wheat, 2/9; chaff, £3 10/; bran, £4; sharps, £4 10/; maize, ex wharf, 2/5; pressed hay, new crop, £3 10/; prime clover hay, £4 ton. Hides, skins, wool, tallow, etc.: We again had a heavy catalogue In all lines. Hides, at late quotations; ox, 4id to Gd; Cow, 8(1 to 4d; calf, 3id to sd; horsehair, 1/ to 1/8 lb; bones, 5/ cwt; rough fat, lid and ljtl lb; tallow, for ordinary 14/3 to 17/, better IS/ to £1, best mutton £1 5/ cwt. Sheopskins, up to 3/11 each for best greeu, the greater number 2/(3 to 3/3, and 1/8 to 2/2 for light; pelts, lOd to 1/0; lambs', lOd to 1/8 each; wool, In bugs and dumps, crossbred and Shropshire 4d to sd, longwool 3}d to 4]d, pieces 2d to 3d, locks Id to 2d ib. At Remuera on Thursday there were less than the usual number, of dairy cows offered, and good values were obtained. Prices for those at profit were from £4 7/0 to £8 each. Store cattle sold freely. Fat and young calves in short supply, were better worth; fresli-dropped, 4/ to 8/; medium, 10/ to 15/; heavy, up, £2 5/ each; 50 sold. Fat cattle, penned in average numbers, were firm at last week's quotations, steers and heifers bringing from £1 to £1 3/-per 1001b; aged cows, 10/ to 18/; steers ranged in pri(!e from £7 to £11 7/G; cows, £4 to £8 17/0 each; 220 sold. The sheep and lamb pens were well filled, and met with a ready sale, wethers bringing from 14/ to 18/; ewes, 9/ to 15/9; lambs, 9/ to 12/6 for wellfatted; lighter sorts, 6/9 to 8/ each; 1600 sold. Few pigs yarded, these sold at late values.

At Tuakau on Wednesday there was a fair muster of stock, and nearly all sold. Dairy cows brought from £4 10/ to £6 5/; strong calves, £1 to £1 15/ each; dry cows, £2 10/ to £3 15/; no grown steers yarded.
