A DISGRACEFUL PRACTICE.
(To the Editor.) Sir,—The property-owners pay) rates to the Corporation, and I think should be protected by a by-law dealing with the nuisance of cutting and scribbling on houses, gate-posts and fences. Some of the lowest and vilest writings aie done In broad daylight with impunity. If a fence is newly painted the effect is soon spoiled. We punish ? e0 T Dle t J n °£ using obscene language, but I thmK writing by youths and boys of s en language, is worse. Hoping an abler pen than mine will bring the evil .to notice, J am, etc., ratepayer.
