POLICE COURT.
At the Police Court to-day, before Mr H. W. Brabant. S.M., William Stewart was fined 5/ or 24 hours for drunkenness, and one first offender was discharged. Thomaa Chappell was fined 10/ and costs for being found on licensed premises, to wit," the Windsor Castle and Swan Hotels, during the currency of a prohibition order. A prohibition order was .issued against John Paris. Barbara Cralgie was sentenced to one month's hard labour for using obscene language, in 'Vulcan Lane. A small boy named John Gussy, previously found guilty of stealing a pocket knife, was committed to the Auckland Industrial School. Henry Mills pleaded guilty to stealing eight kuives the property of John Endeau. There was a second charge of stealing £4 G/d belonging to A. P. Stilwell, and His Worship deferred sentence on the first charge until the second had been dealt with on Monday next. William Reid was charged with obstructing Constable Burke in the execution of his duty, and James Paul witn inciting certain persons to obstruct Constable Burke. Both accused pleaded not guilty, Mr Reed appearing on their behalf. Owing to the news of Her Majesty g aeath the Court was adjourned when the eas<* had been partly heard.
