WELLINGTON, this day. AUCKLAND YACHTS.
Regarding the annual regatta of the Port Nicholson Yacht Club to-morrow, public interest has been created on a race between the Auckland built yacht Rainbow, and the yacht Waitangi, which has undergone sevei-al alterations, especially to her keel and gear, which, it is anticipated by local yachtsmen, will enable her to recover her lost laurels.
The Ideal Dairymen's Union decided to support the proposed formation of a Farmers' Union. The dairy regulations were approved, though exception, was take.v to the large powers entrusted to inspectors. STATE SCHOOL BOOKS. The Wellington Typographical Union urges' the local printing- of all books designed for use in State schools. MNISTEKS' MOVEMEOTS. The Minister of Public Works returned yesterday. The Acting-Pre-mier proceeded South j resterday in the Tutanekai to lny the foundation stone of the new Post Office at Ashburton. THE WELLINGTON CAMP. There was a tremendous rush of people to the Nevvtown. Park encampment yesterday. The tram service proved incapable of dealing with the abnormal traffic, .though all its rolling stock was employed.
