PlllDli OF WAIHI. Everything has now been, completed in connection with the notation of the Pride of Waihi Company, and work should be commenced shortly. MAY QUEEN ETENDED. An interesting exhibit was on view to-day at Mr S. C. Macky's office, Victoria Arcade. When, some thirty years ag-o. Nt the Thames, Jenkins Brothers were flooded out of tneh' workings a harrow .was left behind. The -May Queen Extended Company having acquired the ground, and got underneath these old workings, the manager, Mr Jenkins, .was enabled to iind the remains of 'his old barrow in the shape of portions of the wheel, almost eaten away with rust. This has been sent on to Auckland and placed on view at ?>fr Macky's office. Mr .Jenkins also said he was on rich gold when the water drove him out, so if is to be hoped that the May Queen Extended Company, will have important developments now that stoping can be commenced. Tlie ore shows strong colours of gold at every breaking down. Crushing commenced this morning at the Company's battery. The manager hopes to have two or three stopt's on the way before fhe end of the week,'as he is anxious to have a continuous supply of ore on hand.
