Hall and Perkins report big sales. Fruit selling rather well. Apples, clean and orderly packed, 3/ to G/; half-cases sell best, 1/ to 2/(3. Butter is coming in freely, but all sold. Cheese, dairy, 4d to sd; chaff, new, CO/, old 65/; cucumbers, 1/6 to 2/9; dates, new, fid; eggs very plentiful, 6Jd to 8(1; grapes, none under Sd to V; honey, 3/ to 4/*, lemons are selling well, 6/3 to R/7: peaches in strong demand, specially red worth to 2/C doz, white (id to 1/ doz, 3d to 4d lb. Plums all sold by the ca.se; strong demand for dark plums, realised 4/il ease of 261b; greengage sold high; Takapuna and Yellow Drop not under ra:e lid lb; Burbanks, big, 2/6 to 8/6J case. Poultry was penned in big numbers, but prices were well maintained, specially for roosters, 1/4 to 3/. There is :i demand for turkeys; hens. 1/ to 2/; ducks. Vfi to 2/: geese, to 3/9. Pigs were entered w"l. and fair prices were obtained—Young. 5/- to ','; extra breed, 8/9; bigger piss reached 17/9. Tomatoes, rate 2Jd to 4d. The potato market is well supnlled. but values keen about £5 1/ to £6 for good quality; some sold at 4/ to 4/6.
