There was again lovely weather at ihe Hutt this morning-, and the 1 racks were fa-si. Fashion ami Fifftt Blood jumped off at the five furlongs post on the plough. First Blood drew away in the straight, and ran to the winning- post out by "himself in lmin 3sec. He ran half-mile in 50 see. Scottish Minstrel was better than Windwhistle at about even weight s in a half-mile flutter on the plough, run in 49 see. Hermosa and Westguard sprinted "half a mile each. Tortulla and Boreas, the latter with bandages on his forelegs, were sent the measured mile on the plough. Tortulla had the chestnut in trouble ai fhe home bend, but he was ridden out, and finished a length off. The black mare went in nice free style. It was the best gallop as regards time recorded during the last few days, the in.ie being left behind in Imtn 44jsee. Art Jewel easily held Shelter safe over live furlong's on tlie plough, the halfmile taking .">U see. Queen's Guard ran along six furlongs in a pleasing manner. This mare is very well indeed. Ostiak sprinted half a mile on the plough in 51 sec. Blazer walked up to the six furlongs post on outside of racing track, and was picked up by Battler at the four furlongs mark, lie drew away from Bsiltler at th« end, and finished five lengths in front of liim, the time being lmin IS 1-5 see —a slashing go. Blazer, however, finished very slovenly.
