Wind: Easterly gaie, decreasing noiuiWaru of 'x names and jsianufcau; moderate u> strong- easterly wmud tnence souuiwara of East Cape to JNapier; moderate north-east to noun-west winds at other places. Barometer: Rise at places northward ot Napier and New -Plymouth; fall eis«where.
Sea: Heavy easterly swell on all eastern coast;' moderate to considerable from tne westward on all western coast.
Tides: High on eastern coast north of Castlepoint; good, thence southward; moderate, but increasing, on all western coast.
. Synopsis of the last 24 hours: Pressure increased very slowly everywhere. Strong winds to a gale from the eastward continued nortWward of East Cape, Taupo and Raglan. Rain has fallen generally within that area, but the weather has continued fine in other parts of the country. Low pressure passed eastward of the meridian 175 east, and is moving on a more easterly route than usual. It has riot approached North Cape nearer than 300 miles distance.
Low pressure from west will pass eastward of the meridian of South Cape on the 21st and 23rd inst.
