AQUATICS.

The Anniversary Regatta Committee met last evening at the VVaitemata. Hotel, Mr \V. ('. Somers presiding-. The prize money was allotted to the various events on the programme. The entrance fee was fixed at 5 per cent, upon the total prize money, exclusive of trophies. Hunter's Garrison Band was engaged to play °n the flagship. The collectors reported that subscription? to Hie amount of £250 had been promised and trophies valued at £20, but it is anticipated that during the next week this amount will be largely added to. Entries close next Tuesday night, between eight and ten o'clock, at the Waitcmata Hotel. The committee meet again next Monday night.

The Auckland Yacht Club held ;i meeting" in the Club Rooms, Falmerston Build ing's, last eveningl, Mr C. V. Murdoch, vice-commodore, in the chair. It was decided to forward to the Minister of Justice and the Harbour Board a detailed statement concerning' the numerous petty thefts from yachts which have occurred lately. A comniHtee consisting of Messrs C. P. Murdoch, C. P.. Stone. R. Mast-field and G. V. Edgecnmbe were appointed to mal<e arrangements for an aquatic demonstration on the day of the send-off of the Sixth Contingent. It was also decided to ask delegates from the various sailing' clubs to meet the committee at the Club Itooms next Wednesday evening to discuss the matter.
