SLY GROG-SELLING.

Sly grog cases arc being heard before" Mr Stratford at I'.alclutlia. William .Marshall pleaded guilty to having liquor for sale. The Crown Prosecutor said the enormity of the illicit traffic w;ts shown by the fact that during the raid eleven gallons of whisky, two kegs containing tifteen gallons of beer and lour dozen bottles of beer were seized. Defendant was lined £40, in default a month's imprisonment. John MaoDonaid also pleaded guilty and was fined ClO and costs. Similar fines were imposed on Win. Allan and Alexander IJnin. -lames Vial, junr.. George Vial, junr.. Andrew Hichard.son. A charge against Vial, seur., was withdrawn. In the second house raided the police seized nine bottles of gin, !>>i gallons of whisky, ten bottles ol' brandy, also a case eontainimr fifteen bottles ol' gin, ten gallons of beer, aud ;;-l bottles of beer. All defendants pleaded guilty.
